• attending meetings at the Civic Garden Complex that feature invited speakers
• attending field trips led by experienced guides
• taking advantage of discount offers available to members
• volunteering on a committee 
• reading The Cardinal online

• paying $5 at the door to attend some meetings
• attending field trips that are open to the public
• browsing most of the website
